Ladies and Gentlemen,

May I introduce you to, Pitong and Kiss Kiss!!!

*Pitong*

*Kiss Kiss*

*CLAP*CLAP*CLAP*

Pitong and Kiss Kiss are the result of Rhino the beawesome hamster in Bolt. Rhino got me over excited and the ever supportive Bride agreed to help me get the right ones! I got bitten by one of the angry hamsters masa tengah pilih so my defensive mode kicked in. Nasib baik the Bride was brave and pandai to pujuk so that I tak change my mind and went on to pick two of the most gentle and beautiful ones for me.

The great black and white handsome creature is Pitong. He is named because of the way the Bride mimics the door bell / lift sound.

The adorable smoochy Kiss Kiss was picked by the Bride because she thought that name was just right for the little rodent and a complement to Pitong. Kiss Kiss bites occasionally. I think she thinks biting is her way of showing that she is living up to her name.

*This is their Crib courtesy of the Bride*

Em Koy Say!!!

Romeo, the handsome cat is also very much into hamsters apparently. He would be sitting with me just watching the little couple do their daily routines which includes a repetition of everything that they know. Sometimes I would place them in their magicball and let them go all over the house. Romeo loves this. I don't have to worry about their safety as Romeo would keep a very goof lookout on them. Don't believe me? Tengok bawah...

Hehehe... best... Ai Laik!

Well Written (or Typed)!

Have you ever read a well written document? It’s like the author is speaking to you as you read. If you have any questions, the article will answer it for you before you get the chance to ask. Many of which do not contain bombastic languages. Most have short sentences. Good writers can summarize complicated facts in such a way that you don’t have to re-read it to understand the subject matter.

The Bride said that I like to write long winded phrases. Yup, she is right. But I do so after having the general rule of writing short phrases in my mind! Imagine how much longer it would be if I did not limit my sentences! Hehehe.

I have had the glorious occasion of meeting very experience judges and counsels before. Each time I meet someone, I would make sure that I have benefitted something from them. Otto Von Bismark (1815-1898) once said:

“Fools say that they learn by experience. I prefer to profit by other’s experience!”

In one of my many meetings, I asked one particular judge how he wrote his judgments. His answer got us both laughing but if you analyze it, it is filled with much wisdom.

He said that his English is poor, so he can only use simple language.

To me, he was just being modest. I have read his writings and it does not mirror that his English is poor. Instead, I feel that he has such a good command of the language that his judgments become alive. You understand what he wants to say and everything is succinctly relevant.

He said that priority is very important. One must prioritize the important points and eliminate irrelevant flowery words. Go straight to the point. Make sure the main points begin on a different sentence. It would give more emphasis to what we want to establish. Good management skills will help in writing good judgments.

It could also be ethnic upbringing. My personal and general observation tends to show that Chinese are very economical with words whilst Indians may be too generous. Malays, they like to be diplomatic with the choice of words. This I believe, also influence one’s way of thinking and writing. (No, this observation is not base upon any through research and is just a simple racial comparison.)

Do you have any additional points?

An Old Owl Lived In An Oak

Adapting to my new job requires more effort than I had earlier expected. I am on my toes 24-7 which I think will make me a graceful ballerina in the next year or two. It’s a whole new experience in a whole new world. I learn new stuff as I go along day by day. Sometimes the “hard” way and sometimes the easy way. I’m doing my best at the moment.

I have now adopted the Bride's mentality:

“THINK POSITIVE!!!”

Anyhow, here’s a poem that I heard when I was attending my sister in-law A-Levels graduation ceremony sometime ago.

“ An old owl lived in an oak,
The more he saw, the less he spoke,
The less he spoke, the more he heard,
Now why aren’t we like that old little bird?”

hmmm...

Realization

"oppo"

I have just realized that the word “accept” is actually pronounced as “ak sept” and not “ass sept”. The phonetics discussion was prompted by Diaz_one, my kamcheng senior. It was quite shocking that there was no phonetics for “accept” in our dictionary but I managed to get it on Dictionary.com (my most reliable online dictionary!). We had quite a good laugh when I had to admit that I had been wrong pronouncing “accept” wrongly for the past 2 decades.

(Mental Note: must now pronounce “accept” as “ak sept”).

Have you ever realized something and get that cold sweat on your forehead or some tingling sensation in your tummy? It depends on what you have just realized of course. If you realized that you forgot to go to the loo when you’re already stuck in traffic, the cold sweat on the forehead would apply. If you realized that you’re going home to a nice nasi mendy with mutton all over your plate, the tingling sensation in your tummy would apply.

Well, those two effects of realization are certainly not exhaustive. Bottom line is that each realization that we get will generate a different reaction. That reaction will determine if we get embarrassed or not. Sometimes we may blush, cry, menggelabah tak menentu, laugh, feel fear, anger, sadness etc.

The most hardest (Waa, sudah pakai most ada tambah hardest lagi... hehehe) thing to do is to be able to control your reaction when you realized something. I don’t usually get to do that. Most of the time I manage to control the damage by covering up such reaction by accepting it naturally. I realized that if I accept my natural reaction to any realization, I get to control the consequence even better.

If you feel fear, accept it and you will know how to react to that reaction. You mind will understand that you feel fear and would allow you to think of the next best step, whether to face it or ignore or to just run for your life.

Get it?

No?

What I Ought To Have Done On Eid Al- Adha

I don’t think it’s too late for me to wish all the Muslims a happy happy Eid Al- Adha! May all of our sacrifices be accepted and blessed by the All Mighty!

I had some encounter with a really racist Pengerusi Masjid in Ayer Keroh, Melaka. He thought I was from “somewhere” else and wanted to stop me from leading the Takbir at the Mosque. I just went ahead and led the Takbir anyway.

I was thinking to myself, "Pigidah, kecoh nak control saper boleh baca Takbir tapi diri sendiri tak baca!"

After the whole process was over, I went to him and told him that I am a Malaysian. He said he was mistaken and would not allow other races to lead the Takbir. I said:
“Itu isu perkauman dan merupakan satu jenayah!”

And then I left…

Come to think of it, I should have just said that I am an officer from Putrajaya (no need to tell him from which department) and that I will see that his action deserves the appropriate attention from the relevant authorities. That would have at the very least disturbed his breakfast for that day.

Well, sometimes, at the spur of the moment, we usually miss out the best opportunity… we would then realize it a little bit too late… Thank God my omission brings no further damaging consequences… I just missed the opportunity to teach someone a valuable lesson.

The Bond Factor

Have you seen the new James Bond movie? I have. TWICE! Hahaha.
Somehow, I think the movie sticks to your head. From the time I was driving back after the movie until now, I occasionally get the “dung du du dung dee dum dee dung du du dung” *the Bond contagious theme* looping continuously.

It gets to me sometimes. I’d walk like I’m some sort of a spy on a mission as I slide downstairs in stealth to grab an apple in the fridge.

It’s even worse in the office. Constantly wearing a suit does not help.

Did you notice the pouting habit of Bond? I think it makes people think that one is more focused.

Itu James Bond baru memang ada style. Bertenggong tepi batu pun nampak macho…

The Bride did something to her hair a few weeks ago and I think that the Bond movie has got into her as well (although I am DAMN sure she would not agree with me! HAHAHA!)

To The Bride: Apa-apapun, you will always be my Olga! :)
