Dot Is A Dotter!!!

Yesterday the Bride and I went for Dot’s 6 months check up. My tummy was churning inside out the whole morning. I had a real good gut feeling that Dot would show his/her secret this time.

Without knowing whether it is “pink/blue” can halt many preparation plan. Confirming a name, which would be a trademark for Dot is totally out of the scenario if we don’t know Dot’s gender.

The nurse at the hospital was certainly not helpful that morning.
PEMALAS numero uno!

She could have saved us an hour by just getting the Bride ready before the doctor arrives but no! It was chit chat chit chat chit chat. Then she went on to call patient number two (we were number one, having completed all the pre-examination requirements) because she THOUGHT we were not ready.
Bengong...

While waiting, I began discussing some stuff with the Bride. Suddenly the Bride said, “cube u rase ni…” Hehehe, Dot was awake and was happily kicking inside there. This confirms my hypothesis that Dot is a voice activated baby

Finally, after the long wait, we were called in. After the usual hello-doctor-how-do-you-do session, the Bride got on the bed and got herself comfortable.

-Splat-nyet-nyet-
(bunyi doctor letak jelly biru and tenyeh tenyeh atas perut the Bride)

The doctor began to search for Dot with her magical wand. Dot tried to hide but space was limited. The doctor found Dot prostrating covering the face, too malu to share it with us all. The Doctor said “OH tengok, dia tengah solat Dhuha tu” to which the Bride replied, “She is certainly going to make her grandmother proud!”

As the doctor continued to scan and measure Dot’s size, I started to tap the Bride’s tummy. Just as I expected, I saw Dot shaking her body and tap back at my hand. “Oh!!! So that’s how you do it in there….” But that only happened just once. Dot was too khusyuk praying to respond to my taps thereafter.

What Dot didn’t realise was that as she was concentrating with her mini prayer, the little secret area which was consistently covered was finally exposed! Hehehe Finally, after 6 months we can now confirm that…

a healthy 'Sharifah “Dot” Alhabshi' is on the way, Insya Allah…
(Dot will remain as Dot for now. No point confirming on a name now as we would like to keep our options open.)

Alhamdulillah she is healthy and growing well inside the Bride’s small poyot buncit…
Ahh… truly amazing…
It’s easier to smile and chuckle as my mind begin to wonder during my loooong drive to the office on how life is going to change with a DAUGHTER!!!

Dot oh Dot…. Malu tutup muke tapi tunjuk buntut pulak…
