A Thank You For Everything

I have always enjoyed weekends. I always feel the weekends are really good to rejuvenate ourselves after a hectic week. More so when I have my mini family to spend it with and being a full time student as well! It was for about two years that I enjoyed weekends with the Bride and now we have little Alisha to spend it with.
The best part is that Alisha loves and enjoys her weekends too! As the Bride puts it, “Weekend is Alisha’s special time with Mummy and Daddy”.
It certainly is.
It matters not whether it is a day at the mall, attending weddings, travelling in the car, holidaying, you name it, the fact that the three of us are together, I certainly would enjoy our quality time together.
As I sit back and enjoy my sage tea (courtesy of my good friend from Qatar) and watching England vs. USA, I suddenly smiled to myself knowing that I would be joining my girls to bed soon.
This comforting feeling comes at unexpected times. Sometimes when I'm driving, when I'm day dreaming in class, when I see my Bride and Alisha playing in the room etc. It certainly does bring a flow of happiness in my heart.
Then I remembered what my teacher said in my spiritual class. It is from Surah Ibrahim, verse 7.
“And when your Lord proclaimed: If ye give thanks, I will give you more; but if ye are thankless, lo! My punishment is dire.”
I close my eyes and silently thank the Him for such a warm and comfortable feeling. Happiness that comes from circumstances that He has graciously blessed me, Happiness for having everything that I have. Happiness for having the Bride and Alisha in my life (as well as the existing family members hehe).
Alhamdulillah.
Alhamdulillah.
Alhamdulillah.
It is never too late to thank Him. But as the verse indicates, let us not be from those who thankless.
Allah knows best.
Blog adjourned.
